I love Walt Disney World! And I love food! But, that creates a problem when I try to think of my favorite places to eat at WDW! I’ve created three lists below with my recommendations, but I highly recommend exploring www.disneyfoodblog.com or visiting the Disney Food Blog YouTube channel for posts and videos galore! I’ve steered away from some of the most popular recommendations because I feel that they are ONLY popular because they ARE popular…does that even make sense?!?!
Dining with kids:
- 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios is a classic, fun for the whole family experience!
- Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at the Beach Club Resort hits the spot for dessert, but also offers great lunch and dinner favorites.
- Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom is a definite bucket list item to experience the inside of Beast’s castle.
- Coral Reef in Epcot is a higher price point, but the kids will be entertained seeing all the fish and sea life swim around while you dine.
- O’hana at the Polynesian Village Resort is a complete dining experience in itself and no other restaurant on Disney property offers anything like it!
- Sana’a at Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great way to keep the kids entertained while enjoying Savannah views while you eat.
- T-Rex Restaurant at Disney Springs (or the two Rainforest Cafe locations) are other entertaining dining options where the food might not be the star, but the kids will love the experience!
- Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom has turned into a favorite of my family. We love the food and the atmosphere!
Dining without the kids:
- Artist’s Point at Wilderness Lodge. I highly recommend the Cedar Plank Salmon and the Artists Point Berry Cobbler! One of my favorite meals ever!
- California Grill at the Contemporary Resort. Their lunch and dinner is fabulous, but it’s by far the best Sunday brunch I’ve ever experienced!
- Citricos at the Grand Floridian Resort. Great food and a lovely atmosphere!
- Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom. Long name, but a very eclectic menu. I highly recommend the whole fried fish!
- Mama Melrose’s in Hollywood Studios. The best steak I’ve had at Disney (disclaimer: I still haven’t been to Le Cellier ). But, really, the steak at Mama Melrose’s is so good!
- Any restaurant in France or Italy at Epcot…it’s too tough to pick a favorite!
- Victoria and Albert’s at the Grand Floridian. No, I’ve never eaten there either, but maybe my husband will read this blog post and take the hint 🙂
Best Character Meals:
- 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Breakfast is great, but I recommend dinner. And, bonus points if you introduce yourself to the Evil Stepmother and tell her you read my blog post.
- Akershus in Epcot for breakfast. Make the earliest reservation possible and then be first in the standby line for Frozen Ever After at park opening.
- Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk. Rapunzel, Flynn Ride, Ariel, and Prince Eric come to meet you while you enjoy a menu selection of great food!
- Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club resort is a great way to see characters while experiencing a very good buffet.
- Garden Grill in Epcot is the best and most underrated character dining for the food alone! Breakfast rocks!!
I also recommend going to WDW during any of the festivals Epcot has each year because the food and drink selections are fabulous!
Happy Eating!
